A big big big HELLO to you!

You're the rare ones who still comes by the CGBlog after our shift to Facebook. As I just came to know that some of you are still surfing one another's blogs from the CGBlog, with the links and all, I'll update it once in a while. Best tip: Don't keep changing URLs! :P

Alright, and for those who are still popping by, I've switched the CGBlog from a BloggerTemplate to a BloggerLayoutTemplate currently, which I believe will make things much easier for people to wanna have a go at editing the template and all.

Last but not least, as Junius has suggested a few months ago, to 'keep' the tagboard going to 'submit/tag' our prayer requests or share our short testimonies (if you don't wanna blog). Especially with those who aren't on Facebook.

Hello guys! As requested, I'm posting the points for the initial debate motion.

Should we as Christians support the idea of religious freedom?

Our team’s stand: No, we do not support the idea of religious freedom.
Definition of SUPPORT: to give approval, to help or to encourage the cause (from Oxford dictionary)..but we also need to hear what the proposition’s definition of support is. If they do not clearly define support, this is our main attacking point.
Definition of RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: able to follow any system of belief, according to choice without being condemned or slandered, even if it’s not believing in Jesus.

Our viewpoint:
- According to the definition stated above, it is absolutely hypocritical to support religious freedom as a Christian. (Eg: to strike an analogy- I say I support Obama because I approve of him being a leader of the states. But that doesn’t mean I throw rocks at Mccain supporters either, I still respect their choice. Same with religious freedom. We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. So isn’t it hypocritical to support religious freedom, when we believe in only one truth?)
- Instead of supporting, we should practice respectful tolerance.
- Tolerance is different from support. Support smacks of approval, but tolerance does not equate to approval. (Eg: when we say we support our friend who is performing, we feel happy for that person and want to encourage. But we don’t feel that way towards a friend who wants to become a Buddhist or something. We won’t say “Oh okay, I’ll help you find a temple” but we don’t force them out of it either. WE HAVE RESPECTFUL TOLERANCE TOWARDS THEIR CHOICE OF RELIGION)

- We do not support, because of the outcome of religious freedom. (Eg support of religious freedom will hinder church growth because we have one less motivation to reach out, as we will think its okay to practice other religions. People will grow confused and not be strong in their convictions about God…growth in influence of other religions in society)

- The bible has called us to make disciples of the nation

- Jesus never supported idol worship, which support of religious freedom will encourage. But He didn’t force the people to believe in Him either, which is what RESPECTFUL TOLERANCE is all about.

- AFTERLIFE: religious freedom concerns the present, society on earth. But as Christians, we believe that there is life after death. We want people to receive Christ, and supporting religious freedom will hinder it in many ways (see point on the outcome of religious freedom).
-
- Ultimately, we should not sacrifice a soul’s eternity with God, for the appeasement of society in this time we have, which is temporal.

Hmm... hey guys. This is my first post in this blog. Hahaha... What i just want to say is that i was really impacted by ZOE conference today. Especially, the workshops are extremely fun. Eg. Dancing and Song writing. Also, when Brother Darren prayed for me, i really feel that something new is going to happen. I also feel that I need to do something outside my daily activities, like learning more drum, guitar, dancing... anything that is fun for you!!! What i wan to say to u all that haven't join anything fun yet, to go out to the marketplace and learn, don't get bound by your fear. GO FOR IT!!! coz i believe that the cg will support u , and you will learn new stuffs and realize all your hidden talent.

Y do i wan to write in this blog instead of my blog, i think this subjects need to be told to u all and the other thing my BLOG IS DEAD, and it is only resurrected a few times in a year.

Heya! Just a reminder to all you busy people. For all who attended cellgroupmeeting on Friday, please do remember to call up the person who's name you've drawn if you havnt done so. (: You've still have a few days left. Don't let him/her wait too long..

Try not to plunge into the question of asking the person for his/her prayer requests, instead have a lil chit-chat, don't be in a hurry to put down the phone. You'll be amazed at how much more you'll learn about each other. If possible, guess his/her needs while you're chatting, and see how sensitive you are to a person's needs through a conversation.

If the person replies saying he/she has no requests or do not know what you can pray for, try these areas in their lives. Ask questions to guide him/her along! (:

Okay yes, I agree this blog has been dead. But come on, don't let the same people post all the time! If you have yet to post anything on this blog, get those fingers typing and blog away! (provided it contains relevant content)

Anyway, this week is prayer meeting week, as I'm sure you guys all know. I've gone every day since Monday, and I aim to get all five boxes chopped! Haha, I want to get the free gift mah...

But more importantly, prayer meeting is a time I use to draw closer to God. My prayer life isn't exactly strong, and I've been wanting to improve it, grow more sensitive to the holy spirit. After all, when God is speaking to you, you wouldn't want to miss out on it just because you don't feel it very strongly right?

So if you want to build up your relationship with God, go for the prayer meetings! It's different from pre-service prayer meetings, because we have our own private time of prayer where its just you and God. It's a great time to settle down your heart and commune with the holy spirit.

So please go for the prayer meetings alright? All relationships need effort and communication, especially the one we have with God.

How's your walk with God throughout the entire year of 2008? Was there lots of tough and tiring valleys and wondrous mountain top experience? Here's a short clip done by Pastor Phil, do take a look at it.(:

Keep walking is really something we have to do throughout our entire walk with Him! Walking by faith, hanging on to His promises and His words, praying & fasting and keeping connected with God, to hear and experience Him daily! Believe 2008 has been a great thrill ride of faith for every single one of us, we experience the down times and the pleasant moments. (: Through the darkest of times, what most of us did was we kept walking by faith, something easily said but rather hard to work out.

Keep walking even when you feel that it's one of the darkest moments in your life. We may get tired physically to the extent we give up on praying, seeking God and listening to Him. We may have been let down by fellow Christians or others and we feel like drifting away from God. We may be caught up in emotional struggles or relationship that never seems to work out.

Remember the pebbles given out in Dr.John's service? David defeated Goliath with a single stone, and together with lots of faith, courage. He trusted God, took the step of faith, and walked-the-walk. Let's really start walking in faith regardless of all that is gonna happen! Keep walking!

Hey guys! As we have heard pastor kong shared. Not only this weekend but also numerous times before, that what we say frames our world. We've also learnt that our words spoken to others affects and indirectly frames their world too! Let's start speaking positively and not hesitate to raise and give thanks anyone! Service yesterday and today were awesome! It's really exciting to hear a word on Faith from a man of great Faith. The three points which Pastor Casey Treat shared throughout the two days were: Faith is our connection with God, Faith will change the negatives in our world, Faith will frame our world/future.

The congregation of more than 140 churches and societies together are a sure sign of unity and victory for God.

As some of you may know, we're having a cg Saturday outing this coming Saturday.

hahas cheerios to Damian for putting up the prayer list on the blog!!:D lets be fervent in our prayers for our fmaily, friends, cell group and our walk with God! In James 5:15-17, it is written, "And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months."

So let us begin to pray for one another throughout the week and i believe that as we prayed, God will begin to connect each and everyone of us in unity so that as a cell group, we can boldly engage our marketplace and be an influence there:D

Lastly, i was very deeply impacted by the indonesian songs sung in service these few weeks and the recent songs in the hillsong album This is Our God and very inspired to write new songs to express my love for Him. So will like to encourage all of u who have a passion to compose songs to start doing it!!:D Music is an effective tool for us to connect deeper to God and reach out to the lost one there!!:D

hey yo dear w325!!hahas been quite some time since i last posted an entry too:D believe that all of us has been inspired by Bro Darren's messages these 2 weeks, about reaching out to the lost and having the winning edge when facing our battles!!

Just wanna say that i am so proud of this cg that i am able to race with you all in this race together, even though this race seems so hard, so unachievable, but i believe that this is a season where God want to girde us and prepare us to face the battles ahead. Like what B.Darren preach on friday, the soldier that is willing to die will have the edge to win in the battle. Though not all battles are easy to fought and 'need', yet everytime as we face setbacks, all the more we shld not give up and stand up, sending a strong signal and intent to the devil in the spiritual realm that with God, all things are possible to whom He has strengthen us for.

Believe that w325 will experience a breakthrough both in our spiritual level and in the growth as well. And everytime i feel so encouraged and inspired to reach out to my friends even though its uncomfortable when i see u all putting in so much effort to reach out to ur friends too in spite of all the difficulties set in front of u. So guys, let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we shall recieve the reward and growth that God has installed for us in the next 3 mnths!

Let us be like David, even though he may be the youngest, the weakest in his family, yet he has the winning edge over the others of not giving up and even resort to dying for his own cause and leaving a mark in history. I belive that as we keep on continue to apply what we learnt yesterday, about 1)being grounded in the word of God (Scripture), 2)being observant what we are learning and the things around us, 3)being able to apply and meditate what we have learnt during the weekends into the marketplace and 4) Being fervent in our prayer lives, we will have the perserverence and the edge to finish the race that God has set before us for the cell group!!:D

Believe that God is always bigger than our circumstances, and that He is more than enough for us!!:D

Giving blood is one of the kindest and most generous acts that one human being can do for another. Blood cannot be manufactured. It has to come from another human being to save the life of another. Because of volunteer blood donors, thousands of accident victims and those who need major surgery are alive today.

The Duck & the Devil

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner. As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.

Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved! In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.

After lunch the next day Grandma said, 'Sally, let's wash the dishes'

But Sally said, 'Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.'

Then she whispered to him, 'Remember the duck?'

So Johnny did the dishes. Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, 'I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.'

Sally just smiled and said, 'Well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help'

She whispered again, 'Remember the duck?' So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several day of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, 'Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.'

And the devil keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.) ..whatever it is...You need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. He has seen your whole life. He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you. The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness; He not only forgives you, but He forgets. It is by God's grace and mercy that we are saved.

Hi w325!

I just have this strong urge to share on this blog what I shared with a muslim penpal, cos we were discussing about God..

Okay, during one of the mornings of my vacation, I surprisingly woke up with great discipline to not fall back asleep again (wow). So I went out to the balcony to watch the sunrise in the cold wind.

It was an amazing experience in the most subtle way. I'll try my best to paint the picture that occured over 15 minutes: the pink streak resting on the horizon of the sea glowed stronger every minute until it became the gentlest shade of orange. As the sun began to yawn into the sky, the light shattered across the water and cast a thousand glittering crystals of light on the pacific ocean...It was like the whole process was intricately designed to be this way, to look this way and be so amazing. It was a visual feast and the description above could hardly suffice.

It struck me that God is indeed the greatest artist ever. Such beauty in the natural world just goes to show how much care and love He has put into creating this world JUST FOR US. (sorry but have you seen those documentaries that feature other planets in the solar system? Interesting looking, but rather UGLY). Our world, is one big testament in itself of God's love for us. From this simple experience of watching the sun rise, I can understand why Earth was once the Garden of Eden. It's amazing that I actually pulled myself out of the warm cosy bed to watch the sunrise in the cold. God is trying to say something.

So next time you walk on the streets, stop to admire the clouds that drift so lazily in the blue sky, the lines of tree trunks that look like veins... and even your own 10 toes (why do we have ten anyway huh?) It is in the neglected details and images that we often realise that God is everywhere. We just need to look.

So please please please take care of the environment. Recycle all your math worksheets and conserve water by not flushing every single time.

Hey guys,

how've you been??? I miss all of you really much! I'm currently at Tiberias. This is the place where you find the Sea of Galilee. Sea of Galilee is where Jesus walked on water. My hotel is just along the sea and i just had a swim inside there and did jet-skiing. Awesome! :) The air is really dry here unlike Jerusalem where the air there is cooler.

Okay, i'm sure you're curious about what i've been doing for the past 1 week right? Well, before Tiberias, i was out in the Judean desert for 1 night after my dead sea experience. When I arrived in Israel, i stayed over at Jerusalem. I went to many places like Mt Olive, Garden of Gethsemane, the garden tomb. Those visitation of the holy sites were really impactful and powerful. Wished that you are here too. Oh yes, i prayed for you guys at the Western Wall! Had a hard time trying to squeeze through the crowd to pray individually for you(of coz, for those un-confidential prayer request!)

Well, when i come back to singapore, you can expect a different cgl. Hah! Just be ready for the real stuff. There's really so much more about God that we need to know and experience.

P.S: We're still in the midst of our 21 days prayer and fasting. Continue to seek Him and you will DEFINITELY receive your breakthrough. Let's be good finisher just as we've been good starter.

Calling all NS and Poly CGMembers! The Sec and JC outreach gathering is ON tomorrow, we're gona be gathering at The Mind Cafe(Bugis) for a great time of fun and games. I really hope everyone [you] could avail yourself and join us or even invite your friends to come along too! (:

We're meeting 2.30PM at Bugis MRT Station and afterwards we will walk to the cafe.

The prices ranges from $5 to $16+. More information can be found here We may try to go for the package instead if there are more of us going. So more people.. we also pay lesser.. kinda.. =P

Wow seeing from the many blog entries i have read, indeed alot of ppl have exp breakthrough in their spiritual life. For me, this two days of praying and worshipping have been a wonderful encounter wif God, and i m excited for the things that God will be doing in my spiritual life this 21 days!!:D

Like wad maria says, it takes 3 weeks to form a habit, so juz wanna encourage u all to persevere and don give up this 3 weeks, for i believe God will begin to give us a spiritual revival in our individual lives!!:D

Anyway, it takes 3 weeks for us to develop a habit so if you take this seriously, I'm sure you will not find any difficulty in praying by the end of this month! Oh and do remember that we are to fast on Fridays too! Jia you everybody!

Some easy ways that I have helped myself to pray(hope it can help you out):
1) Write down your prayers. It helps you think.
2) Always record down your thoughts before or after your prayer(aka having a journal). It may be hurts, or things that happen on that day or good things!
3) As what Phoebe has always taught me(us), visualise when you pray.

So yep, hope those people who need to read this are reading this :) You can can share your experience too! Yes! Share your breakthroughs also!! Remember that there will be members who will always be by your side, consistanly praying for you :D

Let's take this chance to grow into the next level yo!

Hi guys,

Once again, thank you all for coming... it is indeed a blessing to be placed in such a wonderful cellgroup =)

I was feeling very weary this week, both emotionally and physically, and because of that I had initially made up my mind to not go for service on sunday. Alright it's confession time here alright? But after what you guys did, I was so touched that i decided to go for service anyway.... okay i don't know how to explain why, but in the end i went for service. So thanks you guys, because of what you did, I didn't miss a great sermon!

We've all heard about how important prayer life is... but for me this message was never as utterly impactful as today's has been. Praying has always been a big problem for me, as like many, I have allowed the wordly concerns to shave me off of my prayer life.

The message was really impactful, and I hope it was the same or more for the rest of you. Even when pastor tan was speaking, tears had started to well up in my eyes.

If we do not pray, do not talk to God, our relationship with Him would simply be idolatry! Let's make a decision now to commit more to our prayer life and not allow the world to shave it off.

Hi guys!

Seeing that our beloved blog is so dead, I decided to post something... the tagboard is dead too, please nourish this site with your words and thoughts please!

I really enjoyed Easter service, and during the last Easter service at Jurong West church on sunday, I felt that Pastor Tan really hit the nail with the story of his daughter gone missing in New York.

When found, she said she followed another man who looked like Daddy. For some of us, perhaps our hearts have deviated from God as we find another person that we really look up to. Maybe we see this new person in our life as a god of some sorts, and give all our love to him or her. Or, it may be a thing and not a person, but nevertheless, it becomes the purpose of your life.

But God is always there, waiting for you, willing to forgive you and start over a relationship with you that bears no grudges. Through Jesus, we recieve a second chance. And it's not only another chance, but God is always willing to give many chances because he loves us so dearly.

As I was listening, I was reminded of a friend's plight... I wished she was there to listen to the sermon. It was totally made for her.

So guys, let us not hesitate to invite our friends for service and cellgroup! You never know how impactful the word of God can be to their lives. Meanwhile, I shall try my best to not be a hypocrite and do the same =D

I just received an interesting chain e-mail and decided to share with you guys. some of you may have received this e-mail before, but for the rest, do take some time to read this yea?

Science and God

'Let me explain the problem science has with Jesus Christ.' The atheist
professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his
new students to stand.

'You're a Christian, aren't you, son?'

'Yes sir,' the student says.

'So you believe in God?'

'Absolutely.'

'Is God good?'

'Sure! God's good.'

'Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?'

'Yes.'

'Are you good or evil?'

'The Bible says I'm evil.'

The professor grins knowingly. 'Aha! The Bible!' He considers for a
moment.

'Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you
can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?'

'Yes sir, I would.'

'So you're good...!'

'I wouldn't say that.'

'But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if
you could. Most of us would if we could. But God doesn't.'

The student does not answer, so the professor continues. 'He
doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even
though he prayed to Jesus to heal him How is this Jesus good? Hmmm? Can
you answer that one?'

The student remains silent.

'No, you can't, can you?' the professor says. He takes a sip of
water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax.

'Let's start again, young fella Is God good?'

'Er...yes,' the student says.

'Is Satan good?'

The student doesn't hesitate on this one. 'No.'

'Then where does Satan come from?'

The student : 'From...God...'

'That's right. God made Satan, didn't he? Tell me, son. Is there
evil in this world?'

'Yes, sir.'

'Evil's everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything,
correct?'

'Yes.'

'So who created evil?' The professor continued, 'If God created
everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to
the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil.'

Without allowing the student to answer, the professor continues:
'Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible
things, do they exist in this world?'

The student: 'Yes.'

'So who created them?'

The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his
question. 'Who created them? There is still no answer. Suddenly the
lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom. The class is
mesmerized.

'Tell me,' he continues onto another student. 'Do you believe in
Jesus Christ, son?'

The student's voice is confident: 'Yes, professor, I do.'

The old man stops pacing. 'Science says you have five senses you
use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen
Jesus?'

'No sir. I've never seen Him'

'Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?'

'No, sir, I have not.'

'Have you ever actually felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or
smelt your Jesus? Have you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus
Christ, or God for that matter?'

'No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't.'

'Yet you still believe in him?'

'Yes.'

'According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable
protocol, science says your God doesn't exist. What do you say to that,
son?'

'Nothing,' the student replies. 'I only have my faith.'

'Yes, faith,' the professor repeats. 'And that is the problem
science has with God. There is no evidence, only faith.'

The student stands quietly for a moment, before asking a
question of his own. 'Professor, is there such thing as heat?'

'Yes,' the professor replies. 'There's heat.'

'And is there such a thing as cold?'

'Yes, son, there's cold too.'

'No sir, there isn't.'

The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested.
The room suddenly becomes very quiet. The student begins to explain.

'You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat,
mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we
don't have anything called 'cold'. We can hit up to 458 degrees below
zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is
no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the
lowest -458 degrees. Every body or object is susceptible to study when
it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have
or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat.
You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of
heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units
because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the
absence of it.'

Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom,
sounding like a hammer.

'What about darkness, professor. Is there such a thing as
darkness?'

'Yes,' the professor replies without hesitation. 'What is night
if it isn't darkness?'

'You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the
absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have
Nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to
define the word. In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able
to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?'

The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him.
This will be a good semester. 'So what point are you making, young man?'

'Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is
flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed.'

The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time.
'Flawed? Can you explain how?'

'You are working on the premise of duality,' the student
explains. 'You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good
God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something
finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a
thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much
less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life
is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive
thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it.'

'Now tell me, professor. Do you teach your students that they
evolved from a monkey?'

'If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young
man, yes, of course I do'

'Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?'

The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he
realizes where the argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.

'Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work
and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you
not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a
preacher?'

The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the
Commotion has subsided.

'To continue the point you were making earlier to the other
student, let me give you an example of what I mean.'

The student looks around the room. 'Is there anyone in the class
who has ever seen the professor's brain?' The class breaks out into
laughter.

'Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain,
felt the professor's brain, touched or smelled the professor's brain? No
one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of
empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no
brain, with all due respect, sir. So if science says you have no brain,
how can we trust your lectures, sir?'

Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the
student, his face unreadable.

Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. 'I
guess you'll have to take them on faith.'

'Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists
with life,' the student continues. 'Now, sir, is there such a thing as
evil?'

Now uncertain, the professor responds, 'Of course, there is. We
see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man.
It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world.
These manifestations are nothing else but evil.'

To this the student replied, 'Evil does not exist sir, or at
least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God.
It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe
the absence of God.

God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when
man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold
that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there
is no light.'

The professor sat down.

Hey! How have you guys been? I'm doing fine and I'm here to post up a wonderful testimony of all the things that God has been helped me in the past few days. They are all small incidences that happened to me, and it is actually from this little things that happen to us, we begin to understand and realise that God does not only helps/protects us when we meet the great mountains and the seas, but also in the minor areas of our life!

On Monday I was not feeling well and did not attend school. Thank God there were great friends who kept me updated of all the homework and even took the trouble to inform me my Common Test results! Even those classmates who I am never close with.

I reached school only after the assembly bell rang on Tuesday, however, I wasn't mark late as it was drizzling in Bukit Batok. I'm glad I do not need do detention. [P.s. i'm not encouraging late-coming]

Later in the day, during Chemistry practical, I drop my whole test-tube rack on the floor! But, neither one of the 8 test-tubes nor the boiling-tubes broke! Not even a single crack! Oh thank God for that, if not I would long have been paying up notes and notes of cash to the science labs assistants.

Lastly, Common Test Results! I would say i've done surprisingly well. I shocked quite a number of teachers with my results. Well, if God can even do miracles in my life in all this different areas of my life, I strongly believe He could make a difference in anyone's life regardless what you are going through. Nothing is too small for God to ignore and we also know that nothing is too big for Him.

Hi guys, believe that yest we had a wonderful cgm and svc yea?Well, just like what Phoebe told us yest during debreif, let us not go through every sermon each week just listening to it and not doing anything. In Luke 6: 46-49, God says in His word that whoever hear His word and does them, He liken him to a building that is built on a firm foundation and that even when the storms come, the building will still be firm. Let us begin to start from this week; after listening to 2 great messages, let us ask ourselves 1)What can we take/ learn from today message and 2)What can we do about it so that the message will be practical and become real in our lives.

In service, Pst Ulf talked about the danger of fear and how we need to identiful what are the fears we have in our lives and overcome it with the help of Holy Spirit and having faith built up in our hearts. Throughout the week, let us ask ourseleves what are the different fears that we are having right now and what are the actions that we can take to overcome the fear.

As we have learnt in Getting Started lesson 2, it says that God gives us the power to overcome all things when we receive salvation, so when we are faced with fears and difficultiies, we have 2 choices to go. Are we going to be OVERCOMED by the fears or are we going to be OVERCOMER of fears?

Maybe as you begin to reflect on them, you can share with cell members whom you feel closer to or u can share with Phoebe too(Remember the value of accountability and connectedness):D

In cgm yest, we also continued about the purpose of having a family where we talked about how the family can be a learning center for life and how the family can be a place where meets are met.

We also talked about what is our parents needs right now and the practcal things that we can do throughout the week. Some of us may need to do housework everyday, some not talking back to parents, some being accountable to parents, some spending more quality time with them. Let us begin to be committed in doing those things that we shared during cgm and make it a habit!!:D Be prepared to share in next week cgm too!!:D

In here, will like to share some quotes/pictures that i have gotten from my friends!!:D it really makes me appreciate my parents even more for what they have done during my growing up stages. Simple it may seem, all these processes requires hard work, commmittment, dedication, time and sacrifices from our parents.

So let us be the child that is willing to give attention to our parents, to be the one that is willing to find out more about their lives, to be the one that shows that we love and care for them by our actions and to be the good testimony at home:D

Hey w325!!:D Been starting on a new book by rick warren titled The Purpose Driven Life, believe that this book is no stranger to most of u all, but in this book, it helps us to explore how to discover the purpose that God has put in place in our lives through a 40 chapter message meant for everyday meditation. Today as i was reading chapter 2, was deeply touched by the message even though we have been hearing this for so many times, but just wanna share wif ya the summary of it!!:D

Chapter 2: You are not an accident

You are not an accident.
Your birth was no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke of nature. Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God. You are alive because God wanted to create you! The bible says, "The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me"

God custom-made your body just the way He wanted it. He also determined the natural talents yo would possess and the uniqueness of your personality. The Bible says, " You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how i was made, bit by bit, how i was sculpted from nothing into something"

God planned your life for his purpose. Nothing in your life is arbitrary. God always have a reason for everything He creates, and every person was designed with a purpose in mind.

God's motive for creating you was His love. God designed this planet's environment just so we could live in it. We are the focus of his love and the most valuable of all his creation.

Why did God do all this? Why didHe bother to go to all the trouble of creating a universe for us? Because he is a God of love. This kind of love is difficult to fathom, but it's fundamentally reliable. God made you so he could love you. This is a truth to build your life on.

You are who you are for a reason
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're just what He wanted to make.

As i begin to meditate on this chapter, even though we may have heard of the message of God creating us uniquely so many times, but yet as i was reading through this chapter, i begin to feel the love of God. I begin to think of Him as the potter's hand, scuplting me from nothing into something whom He has installed great purpose for me. Even though i may not be really clear of my purpose in life yet, but i m determind to use this life to fulfill His purpose and serve Him. As He has created us in His image, let us be really a good testimony in our school, workplace and in homes. Let us begin to portry the image of Christ in our culture. Even though right now we may not be perfect, but as we begin to do everything for God's glory and not for our own glory, God will begin to shape and mould our character; correcting our bad habits and personality, and turn it so that we will become more and more like Him.

After living what I felt was a 'decent' life my time on earth came to the end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of
what I thought to be a courthouse.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor.'

He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, a kind and gentle-looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in
full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across
the room. I couldn't take my eyes off of Him. As He took His seat behind
the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

The prosecutor rose and said, 'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell.' He proceeded to tell of lies I told, things I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions once in my lifeand the more he spoke,the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed, I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins even I completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I was guilty of those things, but I did some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done? Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward. As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty. I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'Hi,> Dad,' then He turned to address the court. 'Satan was correct in saying this man sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wage of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished.'

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so this person might have eternal life and he accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine.' My Lord continued with, 'His name is written in the Book of Life and no one can snatch him from Me. Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.' As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said,'There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all.'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips... '

This man is free. The penalty for him was already paid in full.

Case dismissed'

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, 'I won't give up, I will win the next one.' I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?'

Christ lovingly smiled and said, 'Everyone that comes to Me and asked Me to represent them, received the same verdict as you, 'PAID IN FULL.'

Let's be passionate about serving Him and running with zeal for Him. Even though you might feel far away from God, it's never too late to turn back.

Remember, God took the 99 steps, He is waiting for you to take that one step.

Give your broken hearts to Him. He will heal you. No matter how messed up you are, God is there waiting to shower you with his love.

He loves you more than you can imagine. Let's live our lives that will glorify God. Don't be ashamed of God. God suffered all the shame for you and yet still loves you even though we hurt Him and shame Him. Don't be too quick to say religion is not for you. Go figure. Give God a chance. Indeed, it's impt that we set goals for ourselves this new yr; for if we fail to plan, we plan to fail!!so really wanna encourage u guys out there to take this week ahead to really plan some good goals that u want to achieve this year!!:D For most of ya, mayb u will like to set some goals for ur studies, family, spiritual lives etc!!:D And like wad justin saes, after setting them we muz come up with an action plan to follow up!!:D so do carefully set ur goals with the wisdom of God and i look forward to sharing goals tgt this weekend!!:D

Scripture tells us that it is the FOOL who says in his heart that there is no God. This is a true story of something that happened just a few years ago at USC. There was a professor of philosophy there who was a deeply committed atheist. His primary goal for one required class was to spend the entire semester toprove that God couldn't exist. His students were always afraid to argue with him because of his impeccable logic. Sure, some had argued in class at times, but no one had ever really gone against him because of his reputation. At the end of every semester on the last day, he would say to his class of 300 students, 'If there is anyone here who still believes in Jesus, stand up!'In twenty years, no one had ever stood up. They knew what he was going to do next. He would say, 'Because anyone who believes in God is a fool'. If God existed, he could stop this piece of chalk from hitting the ground and breaking Such a simple task to prove that He is God, and yet He can't do it.' And every year, he would drop the chalk onto the tile floor of the classroom and it would shatter into a hundred pieces. All of the students would do nothing but stop and stare. Most of the students thought that God couldn't exist. Certainly, a number of Christians had slipped through, but! For 20 years, they had been too afraid to stand up. Well, a few years ago there was a freshman who happened to enroll. He was a Christian, and had heard the stories about his professor. He was required to take the class for his major, and he was afraid. But for three months that semester, he prayed every morning that he would have the courage to stand up no matter what the professor said, or what the class thought. Nothing they said could ever shatter his faith...he hoped. Finally, the day came. ! The professor said, 'If there is anyone here who still believes in God, stand up!' The professor and the class of 300 people looked at him, shocked, as he stood up at the back of the classroom.

The professor shouted, 'You FOOL!'If God existed, he would keep this piece of chalk from breaking when it hit the ground!'

He proceeded to drop the chalk, but as he did, it slipped out of his fingers, off his shirt cuff, onto the pleat of his pants, down his leg, and off his shoe. As it hit the ground, it simply rolled away unbroken. The professor's jaw dropped as he stared at the chalk. He looked up at the young man, and then ran out of the lecture hall.

The young man who had stood, proceeded to walk to the front of the room and shared his faith in Jesus for the next half hour. 300 students stayed and listened as he told of God's love for them and of His power through Jesus.

Hey guyzxs! I am back to post!
Erm. Did not really share much yesterday, so...

One year plus ago, a girl named Melina was invited to service by her senior, Maria. It was a pleasant surprise to know that everyone of W325 was so willing to except her into the group and was ready to make her life better. Melina grew in W325 as she experience love showered by everyone in cell group to her and also how others sacrificed to help her with her walk with God and more.

Through W325, this girl has grown and learnt alot, becoming a person of visions and dreams and begins to see things from different views. As she slowly understands, what the cell group is built upon, sacrifices and more sacrifices, she starts to be even more thankful for W325 in her life.

With peeps like HuiYun and JingWei who are always so ready to listen to Melina and people like Damian, Ascot, JiaXin and Marcus always putting a smile on her face with their crappiness and so. :P Maria, Sheryne and Royston who helped her along with things she is not sure of, JianHui always inspiring her to do more for God. Phoebe being so patient with her, teaching her so much she could not remember. So many more she has to say, how this cell group made her who she is now.

It's always comforting to know that W325 will always be there for her when she feels down or lost. For your Patience, Guidance, Love, Care, Warmth, Listening Ear. Just Being There, Just Being Who You Are, A part of W325.

It's a few hours to our 1st christmas celebration of 2007!! Just wanna say a big thank you to all for your hard work and being so committed to the cause of the kingdom. Really feel very encouraged when i heard about how you guys tried to invite your friends, how some of you fasted for 5 days, how willing and ready to help when you are asked to. Just want to say it's a great privilege to be called your cgl. Thanks for your encouraging sms-es and fighting alongside. I thank God for every single one of you. :)

Let's continue to pray and take ownership of the friends coming for all the svcs. You never know how your warmth and love will impact the friends who are coming. So far, 22friends confirmed!

Hey guys,

counting down.. it's 6 more days to our Christmas Celebration!! Manz, i believe many of you are busy buying christmas presents for special ones and for yourself! Let's really make this christmas a special one to those who mean to us. :)

Other than being in the festive mood, i'm sure all of us are busy inviting our friends for the coming svc. Some of us are full of faith that we're going to bring 10 friends this weekend.. whereas for some, you're really stressed up and wondering where to invite the friends. You know what? There's something you can try...

1) Ask and you shall receive.

Try this: When you wake up EVERY morning for the next 7 days, pray that God will use you to reach out to people and share with them the love of God. Pray for opportunities and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Yes, not forgetting, BOLDNESS too! :) When we are persistent, God will always honor that.

2) Without faith, it's impossible to please God.

Try this: Every single night before you sleep, speak into the physical realm and visualise your friends coming to the svc. It works! :) Have FAITH. It's a decision. If you really have no faith, read the bible, talk to your cg friends and ask them to pray tgt with you.

3) Be strong

Try this: Whenever you are down or discouraged, look to the promises of God and remember the '20' that we've always been asking God for. When the breakthrough is near, the fight will intensify. Rem this ok?

Lastly, i'll be fasting on thurs, fri and sat. Any takers? It'll be great to run this last lap together!

Tell you what, shall we go for at least 40 people this christmas?

hey yo dear w325!!:D how's ur week been so far?:D Hope its been great and fruitful and that we have done smth really different this week!!:D if u have smth interesting, do remember to share wif the rest during this week cgm!!:D

Anyway, will like to share a revelation which God spoke to me right after the BS today. In today's lesson, we talk about the rebellion of lucifer (Satan) and how he became a very close angel to Jesus, to becoming the fallen angel of today.

And one thing i learn that really touches me and open up my mind. Since Satan is so evil as to do so many things that oppose us in the world today, many of us will question since if that is the case, why did God still allow Satan to roam in the world today?

Well, we have to understand that first of all, God created Lucifer the angel, and not Satan. Lucifer, because of his pride to ascend to the throne to be higher than God, was cast down to hell and thus became Satan. Yet, God did not stop him from rebelling for the fact that God give each and everyone of us the power to choose and make decisions for our own lives.

Why did God not create every human beings in such a way that all of us will automatically love Him, praise Him, honour Him, and worship Him everyday of our lives?

The essence lies in our heart. God is concerned about our hearts and attitudes, for God always look at the inward heart and not at the outwward appearance. It is liken to a Barbie doll who is programmeed to sae 'I love You' everytime u press a button on her. For the first time, we will feel 'shiok' when we heard the barbie doll saying that, but when we listen to the 2nd time, 3rd time, 100th time, we may feel indifference for the fact that we know the barbie doll does not mean what she really says.

Similarly, God gives us the ability to choose and make decisions; whether will we choose Him as our Lord or will we continue our own ways. It is only when we activate our will to love God that is the most precious to Him, and that is why He is so willing to take such a bi risk for us to choose to accept Him or not.

I believe that all of us here already believes in Jesus, and i thank God for u all for making such a wonderful decisions tgt. Yet as we begin to look into our lives right now, are we still making the right and best decisions for our lives right now?Are we living really to the fullest for God right now?:D Let us start 2dae, making the best of our time to serve God, and the people around us. When we begin to sacrifice our very all for God, only then will our faith be the most precious to Him!!:D

Maybe some of you have read this before, but for the sake of those who have not, this is really interesting. this is a real good one and very relevant to every one - to be reminded of - if only the essence can be understood in the right perspective, retained and religiously practiced...

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."The Lord led the holy man to two doors.He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful. But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get t he spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery andsuffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand." "It is simple," said the Lord.

hahas hey yo dear w325, attached here is the video that was taken of jiaxin's poem and jingwei's script!!:D believe that yest both presentations made by them really minister and touched our hearts!!:D This shows that even God can work thru very unique things like poems and stories. To me, i don really appreciate literature alot, but the two stories shared yesteraday makes me appreciate it even more. Just like what jingwei says, literature is where things like love, hatred, passion, hope etc comes in!!:D

Hope u all guys are inspired by them. Let us cont to do more great and creative things for God. Different talents we have, but we all can do wonderful things for the His glory!!:D

Believe that God is working in w325 right now and seeing how our friendship and bond have grown really makes me realise the works and love of God during these 9 months!!:D I can see that friends that joined the cg are also touched by the love we have for each other, and that is one of the most impt reason why they stayed and love God as a result!!:D Let us cont to build up even greater friendship; bringing the cg to a whole new level like never before before the yr ends!!:D

Hi guys

Below is the short story i've written for our mini group presentation. I'm so happy that it has touched many of your hearts, and i hope that it has brought your heart closer to Jesus's, just like it has brought mine. Writing this short story while I was fasting, I could sense the Holy spirit guiding me gently and subtly in writing this. While writing this, I was guided by a revelation God has placed in my heart, so enjoy!

The prophecies has come to pass, none of which are joyous. All my life I knew this was what I had to do, but the reality of it has never struck me as vividly-- till now.

The blood seeping from my temples mixed with my sweat and tears, turning my vision crimson and blurred. With each step I took, the rough wood of the heavy cross scrubbed against the fresh wounds on my back. Yet as the raw pain strangled my senses, I became acutely aware of the laughter. Not joyous laughter, but that of sinister satisfaction. Raising my head, I saw the grinning faces of the governors' soldiers. Even in my reeling mind, I saw the demon sink their claws into the soldiers' hearts, wrapping them around in their grimy fists. Manical laughter echoed in their souless eyes, their fangs bared in delight. These men were now Satan's puppets, all of them.
The whip was once again slapped against and dragged across my side. I cringed and heard a yell tear from my throat, the sound raw even to my own ears. They brought the whip down on me again, and I couldn't take it anymore. I fell, my face ground into the dirt.

All that I've done, has it led to this? To be despised by people who knew not what they did? With awakened bitterness in my heart, I knew my Father was watching. And he was allowing this to happen.

Admist the shuffling feet, I saw her face. Though swollen, my eyes widened at the sight of my mother. There was so much sadness and pain in her eyes, it was as though she was crying blood. Crouching on all fours, she crawled towards me. The laughter around me and in my head faded to hushed tones, and my mother's voice grew louder. She whispered tender words of love to me, over and over again. She called my name and stretched out a trembling hand for mine. Grasping at my fractured fingers, she pulled herself forth and pressed kisses on my knuckles. Raising her head, I saw that her lips were stained with my blood. In that moment, I felt no pain.

The soldiers pulled me up again. Glancing over my shoulder, I saw Mary Magdelene wrapping her arms around my mother, her face a portrait of anguish. Such kindness and goodness from a woman condemned by the cruel and unforgiving hypocrites. The laughter did not fade completely, but something resounded more brightly now. The cries and the pleading, they rang in my ears. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw the girl I've awakened from the dead. Beside her stood Lazarus, tears flowing down their cheeks with no restrain. The healed lepers pleaded for the soldiers to stop, despite being shoved off repeatedly. Everywhere I turned, I see their faces. Faces that have smiled and wept in gratitude, faces of repentence, with eyes gleaming with hurt to see me like this.

And then I understood what I was meant to do. I love these people, all of them. Mustering all the strength I had, I trudged on with awakened purpose in my heart. To them all, I speak these words into their hearts:

"My life is coming to an end, but through Me, yours had just begun."

Ps: For those who have never particularly enjoyed literature, I hope you now understand what appeal it holds to me. Literature's main purpose is not to teach people how to think, how to behave and certainly not meant to teach people a language. Literature is first and foremost a medium by which a human soul can be brought out into light. It is everything: love, hatred, pleasure, pain, anger, sadness, joy.... and in my opinion, one of God's greatest gifts to humanity.

Wheezxs! Believe all that watched it will say its good. Hahazxs. Brought back many great memories yea? All that times we spend together. Through times when our numbers drop and rise, when we see people saved or lost again. God is good, despite everything that has come to past, we know He has a great future for us, every failure maybe hard to take, but as we learn from it, we are another step closer to what He has in store for us.

Well, i really thank God that all the prayers and fastings have been fruitful, we had a breakthrough in attendance the past weeks, i think. I believe, with God, we can do even better. To be a salt and light out there in the world, it is not easy. No one ever said its gona be all easy-peasy. But know that God sees all that we sacrificed, all our yearns and cries, He will also bless us back with what we sow in hundreds and thousands folds! It's a promise!

Remember the mesaage shared sometime ago? Running the race together? We as a cell group runs this race together. Not only to keep moving on and do our best but to also pick up and run alongside with those who failed. Also the 3 kinds or people in the race? The only ways to help them is to be TRUTHFUL, PATIENT and CAREFUL.

As we run this race together, there are people who failed and definetly some will take the lead. As we win the lost for Him, as one person, representing W325 and also an ambassador of Christ, body of Christ. When we reach out to the lost, who do they first look at? Is it God or the people of God? Our relationship with one another is obvious to others.

God wants us to bear fruits, to multiple. Do think about the evidence of God's love in your life, how you changed after you knew Him and more. Depositing into another person's life and after that the harvesting/reaping. Accept the calling of God. See visions, dream dreams, imagine the people around you being saved. You have to see it first before you can 'act' it out.

Seaside has long been a popular beach resort town, and what trip to the beach would be complete without ice cream? In fact, ice cream has been a part of Seaside ever since the first tourists dipped their toes into the Pacific, and there may even be a historical footnote to the history of the ice cream cone because of Seaside. But first, let’s go back, way back in time to the days before ice cream cones existed (certainly an uncivilized time)…

Ancient History – And Myths
Much of what is written about the history of ice cream begins centuries ago...and it’s the stuff of legends. The claims of Nero (1st century A.D.) and the ancient Chinese (via Marco Polo) enjoying an “ice-cream-like dessert” are used to bolster ice cream’s long-standing popularity. Well, bunk. These desserts, while frozen, are not ice cream as we know it, but more like sorbet or probably a sno-cone! Nero would have servants run to the mountains for fresh snow, and then race back (before it melted) to his palace where he would enjoy the frozen treats topped with fresh fruits. Again, it’s not the dairy treat we enjoy today, and further – it was something only royalty enjoyed (not everyone could have servants sent to the mountains, y’know).

The Dawn Of Ice Cream As We Know It
Ice cream as a dairy delight was probably “discovered” in the 1600’s. The concept of flavored ices evolved, but no one is sure how. We do know that Charles I of England, or rather, his chef (either French or Italian), made ice cream a staple of the royal table. Depending on which version you read, either the chef had a secret recipe for ice cream and the king paid him a handsome reward to keep it a secret, or the chef was threatened with death if he divulged the recipe. Either way, once Chuck-One was beheaded in 1649, the chef blabbed. Soon nobility in Europe knew of, and enjoyed, “crème ice.”

Ice Cream Comes To The Colonies
The still-for-the-rich “iced creams” were widely known in the 18th century on both sides of the Atlantic. Several recipes appear in a 1700 French cookbook, “L’Art de Faire des Glaces”, and here in the soon-to-be United States, ice cream was also known. Thomas Jefferson had a recipe for Vanilla ice cream, George Washington paid almost $200 (a chunk of money then) for a specific recipe, and James and Dolley Madison served ice cream at their second inaugural ball. Still, ice cream was limited in quantity and popularity, due to the enormous effort needed to make it (think two large bowls, lots of ice and salt, and 40 minutes of shaking one bowl while stirring the other – whew!).

If You Want Something Done Right, Ask A Woman
Give credit to Nancy Johnson. In 1847 she developed the first hand-crank ice cream maker, and despite what you might read elsewhere, received a patent for it. Much of the confusion (and lack of credit) to Ms. Johnson comes from the fact that she sold her rights to William Young for just $200 (still a pretty good sum in those days). He at least had the courtesy to call the machine the “Johnson Patent Ice-Cream Freezer.”

Mass Production – Finally, Ice Cream To The People!
The hand crank might have been fine for backyard picnics, but no one considered ice cream making as an industry – until Jacob Fussell in 1851. The milk dealer was looking for a way to keep a steady demand for his cream. He discovered that he could do so by turning it into ice cream – and he could get twice the price! His Baltimore factory utilized icehouses and a larger version of Johnson’s machine, and by the start of the Civil War he had additional ice cream plants in New York, Washington, and Boston. Ice cream still didn’t become a widespread phenomenon until the 20th century, when advances in refrigeration and power allowed for the dramatic increase in production as shown in the chart below:

Hey everyone,
hope this blog entry has find you well! :) I've been meeting and talking to some of you guys and it's great hearing that God's moving powerfully in your life. For one, Maria has a great testimony to share this coming cgm. what's more, sheryne, jingwei and jiaxin will be doing sth for the cg this sat... SO, get ready for a Whoosh-ish time! :)

CG will be fasting on thurs, 15th Nov for this coming weekend. Let us really fulfill the calling that God has upon the cg and in our lives. Fast and pray... no better way to touch heaven and change earth. I always know that you are meant for greatness. That's right, turn to your neighbour and say... "You are meant for greatness!"

Okay, as promised... some of your wish list for 2007. pls pray when you read this okie? Be disciplined! Dont say later.. do it NOW!
